China entry for Republic of Korea ordinary-passport holders

As of 25 September 2026, China’s NIA lists Republic of Korea ordinary-passport holders under the unilateral visa-exemption policy for stays up to 30 days for business, tourism, visiting relatives or friends, exchanges and transit. Stay is counted from 00:00 on the day after entry. Work, study and journalism requiring prior approval are not covered.

Before departure

  • Confirm you hold a valid ordinary passport.
  • Check that your purpose is covered by the visa-free policy.
  • Count the stay limit from 00:00 on the day after entry.
  • Keep accommodation and onward/return itinerary information available.
  • Recheck official notices immediately before travel.

240-hour visa-free transit

  • This is a separate transit policy, not the same as the 30-day unilateral visa exemption.
  • It requires travel onward to a third country or region, eligible nationality, a designated entry port and stay within permitted areas.
  • NIA stated on 20 August 2026 that the policy covered 57 countries, 65 ports and 24 provincial-level regions.
